While Jesus was dying on a cross, surrounded by those who had conspired to put him there as well as his executioners, he spoke these words, “Father, forgive them, they do not know what they are doing.” Father, forgive. What do these words tell us about Jesus? What do they say about our call to respond to our enemies?
